Just a few fun facts about yours truly.
My full name is Catalina Anastasia Peters. If you combine the meanings my first and middle name it comes out to "Pure Resurrection."
I was born on May 7th, 1985 in Brooklyn, NY. That makes me 22 years old. I'm 5'2" and 100 lbs, which can be pretty intimidating given the right situation.
I am an ex-web comic artist. My first website was with Freewebs.com and it was titled The Adventures of Dykegrrl. The story was about a lesbian superhero, because back then there weren't any. I have often thought of starting things up again with it, but I forgot where my plot was going. Not that I really had a plot to start with.
All my knowledge of web design is self-taught. I learn through trial, error, books, online tutorials, web gurus and experimentation on me and my friends. I am currently taking two classes about the web, one for normal design and the other for web-based animation. It's too early in the semester to say how much I will be able to incorporate into my site, s but hopefully I can make some improvements by the end of the semester.
I have been attending the CUNY City College of New York for approximately 4 years now, majoring in Art with a concentration of Electronic Design and Multimedia. That basically translates to graphic arts with a touch of web-based media. After this semester I finally graduate, so wish me luck!! After I get my degree I would like to spend more time developing my career further. I am currently working part-time as an in-house designer for Giant Step Records, doing all of their web graphics, print ads, flyers and other miscellaneous designs. I have also freelanced for other companies such as IASO Records and the NY Gypsy Festival within the past two months doing printwork, so I've been keeping myself busy and working hard.
